Heber Valley Restaurant Week’s Dining Deals
Heber Valley Restaurant Week 2022 runs Nov. 7-13, where local eateries will be offering promotions and special menus. Sponsored by the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, it’s a chance to break out of your usual restaurant rut and try a new place, or a different dish, without breaking your budget.
Unlike this year’s Ogden Restaurant Week, you don’t need a pass to participate. Just visit a participating Heber Valley restaurant and ask for the Restaurant Week special, or discount. You can check the website at https://www.gohebervalley.com/RestaurantWeek for a list of participating restaurants and what they’re offering.
Hosting a “Restaurant Week” makes a culinary statement about the quality of the city’s local, independently owned restaurants. Many major “food” cities such as New York, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, San Diego and New Orleans host a Restaurant Week with dining deals. In 2003, Salt Lake City’s downtown restaurants organized their first annual Downtown Dine O’Round. Ogden Restaurant Week got started in 2013, and this year’s Ogden event is also taking place this week, from Nov. 3-12. And Park City just concluded its annual Dine About in October.
A press release from the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce points out that Heber Valley has well over 40 non-chain and locally owned and operated restaurants. However, not all of the local restaurants are participating, so check the list at https://www.gohebervalley.com/RestaurantWeek before you go.
The participating restaurants vary from higher-end cuisine such as The Lakehouse at Deer Creek, to casual burgers, fries and shakes at the Dairy Keen.
Also treat places like Twisted Sugar and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory are offering discounts too.
Here are some of the offerings so far:
Midway Mercantile: A daily dinner entree is 50% off its regular price. (The annoucement doesn’t give the usual prices, but I looked them up on the restaurant’s regular online menu. And it sounds like 50% off is a steal of a deal!) Each day has a different special, including Monday: Parmigiano Crusted Pork Tenderloin. Tuesday: Scottish Salmon (normally $30). Wednesday: Campfire Idaho Trout (normally $23). Thursday: Lavender Orange Chicken (normally $23). Friday: Juanito’s Fish Tacos (normally $12). Saturday: Van Wagoner Cheeseburger and Fries (normally $14). Sunday: Grilled Lamb T-Bone (normally $34). Also, the Sous chefs will headline a $7.50 appetizer special each night.
Back 40 Ranch House Grill: there’s a list of nightly specials, but no prices. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m always wary of going to a restaurant where no prices are posted.
Blue Boar Restaurant: 20% off your breakfast or lunch check.
Dairy Keen: 10% off on purchases all week.
Don Pedro’s Family Mexican Restaurant: Chile Verde meal for $9.95 (lunch) or $13.95 (dinner).
OG Cafe: 10% off your total bill.
On the Rocks Bar, Black Rock Mountain Resort: Any specialty pizza, $15
Overlook Restaurant: Specialty pizzas for $15
Quench It: BOGO 50% off second drink.
Ritual Chocolate: 1 free drink when you buy a chocolate bar.
Simon’s Restaurant: Three-course meal for $40 per person.
Soldier Hollow Grill: BOBO 50% off for a second entree.
Spin Cafe: Free small gelato with purchase of the daily special.
Lakehouse at Deer Creek: Dinner for Two for $80. Choose appetizer of duck fat frybread scones, trout rillettes or chilaquiles. Entree choices of bison meatloaf, Campfire salad, or burger. Dessert choices are Aztec Chocolate ice cream or fall Squash Cake.
Also, locals get 20% off their bill (I’m assuming this is when you order from the regular menu), and you can buy wine by the glass for $15-20 per glass.
Z’s Steak and Chop Haus: Free dessert with an $80 minimum purchase
