Noodles & Company is open at Farmington’s Station Park, for those who have driven past the signs and wondered “when?” This fast casual restaurant chain serves classic pasta dishes from around the world,

It’s been at least 10 years since I wrote about Noodles when it first came to Utah. Now there are 14 Utah locations and more than 500 locations across the United States.  It’ an order-at-the-counter format, with a menu of fresh, customizable dishes.

Korean flavors seem to be trendy right now, and the new Farmington restaurant features the recently launched Spicy Korean Beef Noodles. It’s a bed of ramen noodles topped with  sweet and spicy Korean-style Gochujang sauce, naturally raised steak, Napa and red cabbage, Asian sprouts and spinach, finished with cucumber, green onions and cilantro.

Two new salads are the Napa Market Salad with Chicken and the Chicken Veracruz Salad, along with the Med Salad with Chicken.

One of my personal favorite dishes Bangkok Curry Bowl. I usually ask them to hold the noodles, as I don’t need the carbs.

From the construction signs, a Chipotle, a Chick-fil-A and a Mad Greens are also coming to Station Park, adding more competition to the existing restaurants.

It will be interesting to see how well Chipotle does at Station Park, where there’s already a Barbacoa  and a Costa Vida. One thing that sets Chipotle apart, in my book,  is the sauteed bell pepper-and-onion fajita strips.

The challenge with Barbacoa is its location in a kiosk near the fountain. It’s  ideal for sitting out and watching the fountain, or dinner-and-a-movie — If you can find it. The building that houses Brixton’s, CousCous Grill, MadBrook and Barbacoa doesn’t have a lot of signs. I’ve met various friends for lunch at that kiosk a  few times, and they often get lost looking for it.

I’ve never been to a Mad Greens before. But the chain’s website info looks like it’s got a lot of great salads, wraps and soups. It sounds like it’s similar to the Utah-based Zupas chain, which also has a Station Park location.

As for the new Chick-fil-A,  there’s another store a few miles down the road at the next exit. And yet, every time I’m in the Centerville CFA, it’s bustling. In fact, I’ve never seen a CFA that’s not busy!
