It’s Free Scone Day at Annie’s Diner on July 11.

Annie’s owner, Jason Sanders, posted the news on the Kaysville Utah Facebook page. The offer is only for dine-in customers.

These scones aren’t the dainty pastries served at tea time with Princess Kate. Utah-style scones hearty, frisbee-shaped and deep-fried so they’re crisp on the outside and tender inside. And since its Granny Annie days, this Kaysville restaurant has been known for its plate-size scones.

One person commented on Jason’s post that their most recent scones ordered at Annie’s Diner weren’t as good as in the past.

“This is exactly why we are doing free scones,” Jason responded. “Sadly, we’ve had some issues the past couple years; but we are now in a good spot. We have a great and capable staff. And we want people to come back, see the changes we’ve made, and enjoy our good, homemade food. I hope you enjoy your scones!”

Along with your free scone, you might want to try some of Annie’s popular items, like chicken fried steak or a big luscious burger. Just sayin’.
