Mandarin Restaurant Uses 5,000 Pounds of Local Produce

CIMG8223_2In just 14 weeks, Mandarin Restaurant has used 5,000 pounds of local produce from Bangerter and Son’s gardens in Bountiful, Utah.

What’s in those stir-fries that keeps the customer waiting line so long at Mandarin? Sugar snap peas, green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, bell peppers, Anaheim peppers, eggplant, corn and tomatoes…5,000 pounds of it.

Although “fresh, local, and seasonal” are today’s trendy buzzwords, Mandarin has been buying produce from Bangerters for over 20 years.

The restaurant is currently closed for three weeks to refurbish, renew and rejuvenate, and re-opens  Monday, October 6 at 5:00 p.m.
