“Countdown To Christmas” Book Giveaway
The book, “Countdown to Christmas” (Gibbs Smith Publishing) came out before the Pinterest generation, but it’s still relevant today. Back in the 1990s, I interviewed authors Charlotte Argyle and Taffy Davidson about their book that featured 12 themed days of stories, crafts, games and recipes to celebrate the holiday season.
For instance, Day 12 is a wreath theme. There’s a story “Circle of Love” to read with you family, and a recipe to make and decorate an edible Popcorn Wreath. There’s a pattern to make jeweled wreath cards, and a game where everyone sits in a circle and takes turns telling a story.
Day 11 talks about candles, and you play a game called Christmas Snooze. On the snowman day, you make snowflakes by cutting a folded tortilla, then frying and dipping in powdered sugar. Candy canes, bells, Santa Claus, trees, candy canes, and yule logs are some of the other themes.
I’m giving away the book in a prize drawing. I’ve looked online, and the book is hard to find unless you buy it used. This copy is in almost-new condition. To enter, just leave a comment at the end of this post. I’ll draw a winner on Dec. 2, which (by the time I send it in the mail) should give you some time to count down to Christmas!
