Since Ogden Contemporary Arts (OCA) can’t hold traditional fundraising due to Covid-19, the group has an alternative. A live virtual cooking class with chef Brandon Price takes place Oct. 9 at 7 p.m., hosted by on-air personality Jennifer Burns.

A total of 150 tickets are being sold on a first come, first served basis at https://ogdencontemporaryarts.org/contemporary-cuisine-101. The $150 price includes ingredients for a meal for two, an OCA apron, tote, recipe cards and a paired cocktail/mocktail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions).

Participants will pick up the fully sealed food ingredients (provided by Harmons Grocery) in custom totes October 7- 8 between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at The Monarch, at 455 25th Street in Ogden.

Then participants will tune in online that Friday evening and let Chef Price walk them through step-by-step virtually (live stream) as they prepare their gourmet meal for two at home. The menu includes Roasted Acorn Squash with Maple, Pepitas, Cider Vinegar; Ricotta Gnocchi with Crispy Prosciutto, Sage Butter; and Basque Cheesecake with Figs and Balsamic.

Brandon’s resume includes executive chef at Cafe Trio and chef/partner at Oak Wood Fire Kitchen and Dirty Bird Chicken.

Jennifer Burns, long-time local TV cooking host and on-air personality, will keep the event upbeat for an enjoyable date night or girl’s night in.

Art to be auctioned during the fundraiser.

A live art auction, along with a raffle and giveaways will take place throughout the hour-long broadcast. Participants can interact and ask questions in real time to be answered during the live stream.

The Contemporary Cuisine: 101 Virtual Cooking Class is sponsored by Harmons, Mountain Luxury Real Estate, Elevate Promotions and New York Life Insurance Company.
