Chocolate Fest at the U on Saturday
The Natural History Museum of Utah has gathered some of Utah’s top award-winning chocolate makers, restaurateurs, and pastry chefs for a two-day Ultimate Chocolate Fest on March 22 and 23, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The museum’s chocolate exhibit gives the history of how that favorite sweet treat came to be. There will be chocolate tastings every hour within the exhibit. You can participate in cacao seed grinding demonstrations, or test ancestral Puebloan pot sherds for chocolate residue., or draw your favorite chocolate memory to contribute to a community art piece. Mayan dancers from the Utah Hispanic Dance Alliance and modern dancers from the University of Utah’s Modern Dance Department will also perform.
Award-winning chocolate experts will be spread throughout the exhibit so you can sample or buy their products, such as Chocolot Artisan Chocolates, Hatch Family Chocolates, Millcreek Cacao Roasters, Amano Artisan Chocolate, Food of the Gods Chocolatier, The Chocolate Conspiracy, Tony Caputo’s Market, Cafe Ibis, Rubadue’s Saucey Skillet, and Mezzo Chocolate , and many others.
Tickets are the same as regular admission prices: $11 for adults, $9 for age 65 and older or ages 13-24; $8 ages 3-12, and children under age 3 are free.
