Slow Food Utah Accepting Micro-Grant Applications

BeesSlow Food Utah is accepting micro-grant applications up until Feb. 15, for local small-scale food growers and producers, community innovators and educators.

In the past, Slow Food Utah has funded school gardens, construction of a goat barn, a tractor, seeds and greenhouse supplies, and new baby piglets.

A few years ago I interviewed the Bees Brothers, three boys from Logan who expanded their honey business with funding from Slow Food Utah.

The funds come from donors and Slow Food’s annual fundraiser, the Feast of Five Senses.

Any individual, small business, or non-profit committed to Slow Food principles of good, clean, fair food, cultural diversity and conviviality is welcome to download an application at  www.slowfoodutah.org.
