Children’s Miracle Network Selling Sauces and Salad Dressings
The Children’s Miracle Network is test-marketing a new way to raise funds, with its own brand of salad dressings and sauces. It’s similar to the way that actor Paul Newman raised millions of charity dollars through his signature Newman’s Own brand.
The Miracle Harvst products are currently being test-marketed here in Utah. You can buy traditional, garlic-herb or tomato-basil flavored sauces, or balsamic vinaigrette or creamy ranch dressings. According to Tony Rehmer of the Children’s Miracle Network, they are made by the same manufacturer who makes Simple Truth and Annie’s brands.
“You would normally go and buy a bottle of pasta sauce or salad dressing,” said Rehmer at a Salt Lake City press event to announce the new products. “Our is 100 percent of profits going back to the local Children’s Miracle Hospital, which is Primary Children’s Medical Center.”
Founded in 1983 by Marie Osmond, John Schneider, Mick Shannon and Joe Lake, the Children’s Miracle Network has raised funds for 170 children’s hospital across the United States. The funds go to support research, buy equipment and pay for uncompensated care.
The products retail for about $2.89 for the salad dressings and $2.99 for pasta sauces. You can find them at Associated Foods stores — such as Dick’s, Ream’s, Macy’s, and Dan’s. Near the end of October, they will also be in Smith’s stores.
