Ever wanted to try your hand at making pretty meringue sandwich cookies called macarons? This hard-cover book, “Gourmet French Macarons” by Mindy Cone, shows you how to make them in all shapes and colors. I’m doing a prize drawing for a copy of the book. All you have to do to “play along” is leave a comment at the end of my blog.
Macarons are NOT the same as macaroons. According to author Mindy Cone, when you bite into a macaron, “there’s a crisp thin outer shell that gives way to a chewy almond meringue cookie, followed by a silky center of flavorful filling.”
This hardcover book gives you a list of tools, and over 75 unique flavors and festive shapes, with colored photos. The book includes a CD of templates to turn you macarons into Valentine’s Day conversation hearts, holiday reindeer, winter snowflakes, flowers, baby show favors, and more. The book, published by Cedar Fort Publishing, retails for $24.99.
If you want to enter the prize drawing, just leave a comment at the end of my blog. I’ll draw a winner next Tuesday, and get in touch with you so I can send you the book.
