SONIC and Julianne Hough Raise School Funds Through Limeades for Learning

This month the SONIC Drive-In chain is launching #ThanksTeach, a social media campaign tied to Limeades for Learning®, to place much-needed classroom supplies and learning materials in public schools across the nation.

For the second year, SONIC is teaming  up with Julianne Hough to give thanks to hard-working, dedicated teachers with a $1 million donation to public school teacher projects.  Fans and guests are invited to share the #ThanksTeach hashtag on social media in honor of Teacher Appreciation Month.

For this campaign, Julianne  worked with SONIC to fund nearly 200 dance projects created by public school teachers, in 36 states across the country.

SONIC began Limeades for Learning in 2009 to help teachers who were spending an average of $500 of their own money to get supplies for their classrooms each year. SONIC partnered with DonorsChoose.org to fund public school teacher projects across the U.S.

People can help spread the word about Limeades for Learning by sharing the hashtag #ThanksTeach on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest throughout the month of May in honor of Teacher Appreciation Month.

To date, SONIC has donated more than $7.5 million to public school teachers, funding more than 14,000 classroom projects that support  more than 419,370 students.
